The Trap System The Trap is a large (you can stand inside it), adjustable, reconfigurable and reusable fixture that is available as a stand-alone item, or as part of The 90% Solution.  It is an excellent choice for probing rackmount-sized equipment and PC boards, as well as many small items or PC boards at one time.

The Trap System The Trap is a reconfigurable fixture, designed for Functional Test and related applications. The Trap will accomodate PC boards up to 19.5" x 19.5" , or multiple boards that will fit in an 19.5" x 19.5" area, and most 19" rackmount equipment up to 6-U high. Replacing the 4 vertical shafts with longer ones will increase the equipment height allowance. All adjustments to the Trap may be made using a set of hex-key wrenches. No other tools are needed. The lower section has a sliding tray for accessories such as signal routing devices (Multiplexer and Relay cards), power supplies and loads. The Trap in the photo is shown partly assembled, for clarity. It comes assembled, with the upper frame (at lower left), the other vertical travel stop (only 1 is shown) and the lever mechanism attached (the aluminum assembly on the top of the Trap, shown in Fig. 1, below). The footprint is roughly 25" x 30", and about 25" tall. The Trap comes standard with a lower development pan (on slides, for access). Probe Bars (2 shown), UUT Holders or the Trap Cartridge are extra and not included. Additional Probe Bars and Probe Holders are available separately.
