The Drawer System The Electrical and Mechanical Mass-Connection System The Drawer is designed to provide a base to mount a variety of mechanical and electrical connections for mass connections. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, it is then possible, with the movement of a lever, to make mass connections in one quick and easy motion. The Drawer is available as a stand-alone product, or as a system. The Drawer (see Parts) will bolt on to the Trap |

These are examples of a system that we put together to test functionality and connector density. This particular system uses an acrylic plate to mount the various connectors, instead of G-10, since acrylic is transparent, and this makes descriptions easier. Fig. 1 shows the Drawer closed from the back. The connections, left to right, are 8 fiber optic connectors (our loopback has only 8 connections, but the device has 10), an ethernet port and a 120VAC connector. Fig. 2 is a side view. The Drawer is loaded from the side. This view shows the stops and other adjustable parts of the drawer. |
